The cover story for this issue was about different milestone celebrations across campus. The image we used for this just had to be a cake. We used a local cake decorator, Kerry St. Pierre, to make the three-tier cake.
I also wanted cake slices to be with each anniversary story and have the number for the year being celebrated.
This project was fun to plan, work with the cake artist, and execute the layout. The three-tier cake on the cover and the slices had the text on numbers applied by the artist. I didn’t want to use the same text on the inside image of the cake and added that with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
